Billing Supervisor needed

Leake and Watts, located in Yonkers, NY, is a non-profit child welfare agency serving the greater New York Area and surrounding communities since 1831. We provide foundations for individualized success to over 2,800 vulnerable children, adults, and families dealing with emotional, psychiatric, and cognitive challenges, as well as, an array of traumas through a continuum of high quality programs and services.

As part of the Finance Department, the Billing Supervisor will supervise monthly billing and Medicaid application process. Coordinate and reconcile ancillary charges, adjust and maintain accounts to reflect correct and current balances, process transactions in accordance with contractual terms and complex regulation governing OPWDD, ACS, SED, contract Billing, daycare and head start. Assure accurate accounting for financial statements, and that aging report are maintained and reviewed for collection in accordance with current acceptable accounting and cost reimbursement principles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strive to improve billing and collection process and procedures.
• Interface with senior management team, provide regular and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
• Update and document in the system all changes made to account(s).
• Maintain quality control on all accounts for the correct code and in compliance with the billing protocol as required by the funding sources.
• Implement accounts receivable management functions, aging schedule and related information system.
• Correct errors on assigned claims, follow up and implement corrective action.
• Review the remittance advise from Medicaid and xxx and follow up on denied claims.
• Work with the other senior accountants to strengthen internal accounting control.
• Work with quality improvement department on documentation/ voidable claims/ billing errors/ internal auditing for billing and collection.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science/ Math/ Accounting/ Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in billing/coding and prompt collection.
• Advanced understanding of Medicaid billing and other NPO billing and collection guidelines.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
• Proven ability to develop and coach staff.
